As a young boy, Andrew Colaruotolo worked alongside his grandparents in Gaeta, Italy, a small fishing village located between Rome and Naples. It was here in the fields of Italy Andrew learned that only a meticulously tended and beloved vineyard will yield the fruit needed to produce high quality wine.
After World War II, Andrew immigrated to Rochester at the age of 17 in search for a better life. Leaving behind his mother, father, sister and a war-torn country he began his career as a mason, studying architecture at RIT and learning English at night. Soon he founded his own custom home building company, Anco Builders, which he and his son John still operate. Together they have built over 1,200 homes in the Fairport area including the homes surrounding the vineyard.
